Linking to Databases

Link Directly from the Library A-Z List

Links copied from the A-Z List direct the user through the Library Authentication Server which allows users off-campus access to content.

To link directly to a database (e.g. Academic OneFile, Academic Search Premier, Science Direct):

  1. Visit the A-Z List of UMD databases, found at the Library Home Page
  2. Find your database on the list by using the search bar at the top of screen scrolling, or CTRL+F.
  3. Right click on the database name to bring up the options menu.
  4. Select COPY LINK ADDRESS. (See image below) The link will follow this format: "http://libguides.d.umn.edu/NameName"

Find the Link you want to copy, right click (ctrl+click for Mac), select "Copy Link Address"

  1. Once copied, paste the URL into your document or Canvas Course.
