How to Link to Items in the Library Catalog

The Kathryn A. Martin Library Catalog provides access to online and physical collections. Linking to an article or e-book is a way to provide quick access. 

1. Find an item in the Library Catalog and click the title

The Kathryn A. Martin Library Catalog provides access many books and articles. As an example, a book in the catalog is 
Hiking the North Shore : 50 fabulous day hikes in Minnesota's spectacular Lake Superior region.

2. Save the URL out of the browser bar or click the Get Link button.

Once you find the item you want, you can either:

  • Copy the link in the browser bar, or,
  • Find the "Get Link" button in the Library Catalog record's "Send To" menu. Remember to click "Copy the Permalink to your Clipboard" found under the link.

3. Paste the copied link into your document, email, or Canvas course.

Always test the link to ensure it will work properly for your students.
