Borrow Books from other University of Minnesota Campuses with Get it

Did you know you can get books and more across the University of Minnesota System?

You can easily request eligible physical materials from any University of Minnesota library. Just sign into the library catalog, search for an item, click its title, and choose Get It! (when available). You will receive an email when it is ready for pickup or is mailed out to you.

Please note that this Get It differs from Interlibrary Loan, which brings you materials from libraries outside of the University system, requiring a longer wait. Use Get It! as your first choice when available.

Find additional information at our Get It! page.

Borrow Books from Outside the University of Minnesota System with Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan button

Use our interlibrary loan (ILL) services to get books, articles, DVDs, and other items owned by other libraries. The books will be mailed here for you to check out.

Another way is by searching the catalog-of-catalogs called WorldCat. When you search WorldCat, the results will be in the order of how many libraries in the system own a copy. If you're interested in getting a book sent here for you, click on the title to find out more about it, and then click on the link for ILL or interlibrary loan (there will be a red icon). You will be sent to the login screen for our ILL system.
