Get It

Did you know you can get books and more across the University of Minnesota System?

You can easily request eligible physical materials from any University of Minnesota library. Just sign into the library catalog, search for an item, click its title, and choose Get It! (when available). You will receive an email when it is ready for pickup or is mailed out to you.

Please note that this Get It differs from Interlibrary Loan, which brings you materials from libraries outside of the University system, requiring a longer wait. Use Get It! as your first choice when available.

Find additional information at our Get It! page.

If you want an article, book, or other item that isn't available at the Kathryn A. Martin Library, you can request it through interlibrary loan in the catalog. Library staff will try to obtain the item through other University of Minnesota libraries and from libraries outside the UMN system. The books will be mailed here for you to check out.

Another way to find titles is by searching the catalog-of-catalogs called WorldCat. When you search WorldCat, the results will be in the order of how many libraries in the system own a copy.
