Educational and Psychological Test Sources Research Guide

Test sources

This guide is to help you locate test and test reviews that are available for educational and psychological testing.

When using the Library Catalog to search for test information try searching for a particular test name or use the following Library of Congress subject headings:

  • ability-testing
  • achievement tests
  • character tests
  • educational tests and measurements
  • examinations
  • neuropsychological tests
  • preschool tests
  • psychological tests
  • stress relaxation tests
  • tests of achievement and proficiency

The UMD library does not carry most of these tests. Many of these sources provide information for purchasing the test. When using a unpublished test with a group, permissions should be requested from the author or publisher.

A good place to find out additional information is the American Psychological Association (APA) web site. An online resource is Finding Information About Psychological Tests: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
