Use our interlibrary loan (ILL) services to get books, articles, DVDs, and other items owned by other libraries. The books will be mailed here for you to check out.
Another way is by searching the catalog-of-catalogs called WorldCat. When you search WorldCat, the results will be in the order of how many libraries in the system own a copy. If you're interested in getting a book sent here for you, click on the title to find out more about it, and then click on the link for ILL or interlibrary loan (there will be a red icon). You will be sent to the login screen for our ILL system.
The Library can retrieve books from any University of Minnesota Library for Home Delivery or pickup at the Circulation Desk (on the library's first floor).
You can search the University of Minnesota All Campus Catalog to check the holdings through the UM system and then select the "Find or Request" tab and then "Sign in to Request" and click on Get It to order an available copy. If you've requested an item for pickup in the Library, you'll be notified when it is available for pickup. Manage renewals through My Account on the Library website.
