One feature that you may not have used before is Google Scholar's Scholar Profiles. You can create your own profile as well as discover and follow other experts to explore their work and fields. Scholar Profiles can be found by either searching for a name or clicking on the name of a scholar in a results list. Below is an example of a Scholar Profile for Safiya Umoja Noble.
Located at the top of the page is information about the scholar including their title/position, email, links to their website, and subject expertise. Clicking on the subject links will retrieve a list of other scholars who have the same subject label in their profile. You can follow scholars by clicking on the Follow button; you see scholars you follow by clicking on the hamburger icon at the top left and go to Alerts. Following specific scholars can be a great way to stay up to date on current research and scholarly conversations.
Each profile will include a list of the author's scholarly works including co-authors and some publication information. You can also see how many times a title was cited under the Cited By column and the year it was published. When you click on the linked text, it will take you to the item's record with more detailed information. Access options will be to the right of the record; if you don't find full access, copy and paste the title into the Library's Article & Books search.
