Books

Books (Paper)

Use the All Campus Catalog to search for books – this includes not only the Duluth catalog, the Twin Cities catalog but the other U of M campus libraries as well. If the item is not checked out, you should get the book in about 3 working days using GetIt.  Directions for using GetIt are at: http://lib-gots.d.umn.edu/tutorial/how-to-use-get-it .

Books (Electronic)

Although you can search for electronic books in our catalog, you can only search in limited ways. Items from these systems can be searched by exact word or phrase – EnviroNetBase , ChemLibNetBase and EngNetBase, Springerlink, Knovel (also has interactive tables and graphs), Science Direct, Sage, and Wiley. Note that some of these databases may show material that UMD does not have access to, but you may borrow these items on Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan - if the UMD Library does not have an item you want, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan.
