Linking to Library Resources

Instructions and visual examples on how to link to library resources.

Link to Articles in a Database

It can be challenging to find a permalink to an article. In most cases, users cannot copy and paste the link found in their internet browser's web address bar. Instead, most databases provide access to a permalink within their interface.

The examples in this guide are not exhaustive of all databases the library subscribes to. If you need assistance finding a permalink for a particular article, journal, or database please contact a librarian through the library's Research Support service.

EBSCO Permalinks

  1. In the right hand Tools menu on the article's page, click on the Permalink option.
  2. The Permalink URL will appear above the article title.
  3. Copy the text and paste it into your document, email, or Canvas Course

ProQuest Permalinks

  1. On the article's page, click on the Abstract/Details tab beneath the title.
  2. Look for the Document URL under the Abstract/Details tab. This is the permalink. You may need to scroll to find it.

Gale Permalinks

  1. From the article's page, click on the Bookmark icon in the menu bar.
  2. The Bookmark URL will appear over the article. This is the permalink.
  3. Copy the text and paste it into your document, email, or Canvas Course.
