Bridges & Pathways Guide: Find Books

A research guide for participants in Bridges to the Baccalaureate Degree and Pathways to Advanced Degrees in Life Sciences (PADLS) programs.

Searching for Books

If you are searching just for books, I suggest that you use the All Campus Catalog.  If another campus has a book you need, you can use the GetIt and if the item is not checked out, you can have the book in 2-3 working days. Directions for using GetIt are at: http://lib-gots.d.umn.edu/tutorial/how-to-use-get-it

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are offered without charge by the Kathryn A. Martin Library to support the coursework and scholarly research of the UMD community. ILL provides access to materials that are not owned by Martin Library or cannot be borrowed from another University of Minnesota library through Get It. Be sure to check the library catalog to see if we have materials before requesting them through interlibrary loan.

Get It

Did you know that the library will now pull your books for you?

is a service which provides paging service for all registered UMD Library users, with U-wide paging and lending available to students, faculty, and staff.

Get It offers students, faculty, and staff the ability to manage renewals through My Account on the Library Web site. You can search the MNCAT all-campus catalog to check the holdings throughout the UM system and then select the "Find or Request" tab and then "Sign in to Request" and click on to order an available copy or recall one that is checked out. The item will be shipped via courier if coming from another campus location.

Find additional information at our Get It information page.
